Building Skills Machine Sewing Workshop – 2-day course

About the Event

Through clear demonstrations and guided instruction, Angela will cover essential techniques that improve both the finish and durability of handmade garments. Participants may choose to follow along hands-on by bringing their own sewing machine and fabric, or attend as a demonstration-based learning experience. Handouts will be provided for all techniques covered.

Friday evening focuses on hemming techniques and working with stretch fabrics. Saturday explores installing zippers, creating buttonholes, and constructing a small pouch bag with a button closure. Hands-on participants will receive a kit to complete the pouch.

About the Instructor

Angela Sigvaldason grew up in St.Stephen, NB. The baby of 8 children. Her mom taught her how to stitch when she was very young and her love for sewing never stopped. Making clothes, dolls, applique quilts was just the start. Creativity is endless and living in BC offered more skill building and practice. After moving to Cape Breton Island 5 years ago, she saw an opportunity to share her talents by mending and tailoring and now she wants to teach YOU!
